Kudos for Oregon DOT and Tri-State Construction

December 9, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Thanks to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the contract crews for Tri-State Construction, Oregon’s highway 35 is open again and ready for us skiers who know that you can’t get to the best skiing on Mt. Hood – Nordic and alpine – without traveling on Highway 35.

If you’re not an Oregonian, you probably don’t know that torrential November rain caused landslides that wiped out all access to the east side of Mt Hood – a skier’s nightmare. But after a monumental effort by ODOT and the construction crews, highway 35 will be open again at 5 a.m., Saturday, December 9.

Just goes to show that state government and private enterprise can work together and get things done well, on schedule. Want to know more about why these folks deserve praise? Read this article from the Portland Oregonian.
